Functional and Epilepsy Neurosurgery

The functional neurosurgery program treats degenerative neurological illness to improve patient function and quality of life. Techniques employed include Deep Brain Stimulation and intrathecal drug delivery using implanted pumps, both awake and asleep procedures are possible depending on patient preference and other factors.

The epilepsy surgery program provides surgical therapy to reduce or eliminate seizures in patients with medically intractable epilepsy. Invasive monitoring, open surgery, stimulation procedures and laser ablative procedures are all offered by our comprehensive epilepsy program. The procedure selected is determined by a multidisciplinary discussion and conference with the patient.
